Vintage Fulani Indigo Textile "Wrapper" from Mali | 52 x 47"

This textile is hand spun and used by the Mossi people in Burkina Faso, West Africa. It is woven in narrow strips roughly 6" wide of undyed cotton fabric. After each strip is produced, they are woven together forming a larger cloth. The complete textile is then dyed using natural indigo dyes. This textile was used as a shawl, most commonly during a wedding ceremony.
