These flexible cylindrical baskets, handwoven by the women of the Mina tribe in coastal Benin, are made of a very plentiful lowland grass from the swampy delta area of Benin. They are as useful for us as they are for the people of Benin although we would be more likely to put a plant in them and they would use them to store dry food items or fruit. They vary slightly in size but in general are around 10 3/4" deep and 13" in diameter.
