The cord of this single-strand necklace is of finely twisted black leather and features a traditional African ball and loop closure. Onto it has been strung a single small brass crab gold weight pendant. The leather is made from goatskin.  Each small brass crab gold weight pendant is individually hand cast using the traditional lost wax casting method so no two are exactly alike.
