This pendant is one of the region-specific pendant series - said to be a series of 21 - that the Tuareg people of Niger use. This one is from the In Gall region, characterized by metal encasing a piece of red glass, this one etched with Islamic designs. The necklace is of spherical black beads and each necklace incorporates 4 long cylindrical metal Tuareg beads.

Total length of this beautiful necklace is 9" (23 cm); the pendant adds another 3" to it (8 cm), for a total necklace length of 12" (30 cm).
