This cloth is a very traditional Fulani textile, woven in wide bands using the traditional double heddle dragstone loom, in Mali. This elaborate textile features supplementary weft patterns throughout. This cloth is very well used and has all the signs of such use: stains throughout and a large torn hole near one end. If the 9" at the end of this textile were removed that hole would disappear, yielding a textile measuring 65 x 42" (165 x 107 cm).
