This cowhide shield was made in Kenya by a Maasai artisan, following traditional practices but was kept in a storage facility for some years during which it became rather "distressed". It maintains its character as an important part of the accessories of a Maasai warrior. The stand on which this shield was photographed is NOT included in the sale of this shield.
