Vintage Fulani tribal textile from Mali. This beautiful weaving is characteristic of the Fulani people of Mali and Niger. This would have been the most formal clothing of a man of some distinction. Men wear these around their shoulders on important ceremonial occasions, with one shoulder exposed. A vintage textile, I don't know if this was originally a darker black or if it was grey from the outset.
