Soapstone is a soft rock that is capable of being carved and etched to great deal without fracturing. This is a symbol of both the aesthetics and talent of Vietnamese workers. Mined from the mountains of Quang Ninh, each of these 13 soapstone figures was individually designed and carved by hand to produce 13 complete masterpieces. It takes hours to finish and ultimately become one of a kind pieces. These are unpainted so the natural color of the stone is what you see.
