Small African Powderglass Bead Wire Decor 6-Leg Spider Insect Sculpture
These unique one-of-a-kind beaded wire spiders are part of the movement of contemporary African art sweeping the Continent. These showcase the work of the artist known as "Tet". These spiders feature 3 or 4 handmade African powder glass beads and thin recycled copper wire. The smallest black, amber & red beads, the feet and antennae, are imported, conventional glass. These African beads, also called "sandcast" beads - are modern versions of the traditional low-fire bead making process which has proliferated recently in Ghana. Tet's creativity is reflected in a large variety of beads of this type; he has chosen these spiders as one more way to exhibit his skill.
