This vintage drum is an authentic small handmade African 2-head instrument, made of wood with a carved central band. This drum is an original piece from Mali, with the maker unknown. It is, in my experience, an extraordinary drum, made only for use in ritual, tribal ceremonies. Perfect for collectors or those interested in African music, art and ethnographic artifacts. This ceremonial drum measures 7 3/4″ (20 cm) tall with a head measuring 6 1/4" (16 cm). It is in excellent condition, although very old and very much used. It may be musically useful now; we can only guarantee its decorative value, not it sound quality.
