Beaded Wire Decor African Powderglass Black Butterfly Insect
This unique one-of-a-kind beaded wire butterfly is part of the movement of contemporary African art sweeping the Continent. This one showcases the work of the artist known as "Tet". This butterfly features 5 handmade olive green, yellow & black African powder glass beads and recycled wire. The smallest black beads, forming the wings, feet and tail, appear also to be African and handmade but I'm not sure. The African beads, also called "sandcast" beads - are modern versions of the traditional low-fire bead making process which has proliferated recently in Ghana. Tet's creativity is reflected in a large variety of beads of this type; he has chosen these spiders as one more way to exhibit his skill.
