African Powderglass Bead Wire Decor Spider Insect Sculpture
Each of these unique one-of-a-kind beaded wire spiders is part of the movement of contemporary African art sweeping the Continent. These showcase the work of the artist known as "Tet". Each of these features 3 handmade African powder glass beads, the 3 largest ones: the head, the body and the "tail" of the spider, and recycled wire. The centerpiece, the focus of the artist's talent, is the largest, spherical dark bead with blue, green and white spiraling fired into the bead in the original process. The heads' translucent colors contribute to the variations available. The smallest celadon green beads, the feet and antennae, are imported, conventional glass. These beads, also called "sandcast" beads - are modern versions of the traditional low-fire bead making process which has proliferated recently in Ghana. Tet's creativity is reflected in a large variety of beads of this type; he has chosen these spiders as one more way to exhibit his skill.
We have 7 variations of this exceptional hand-crafted expression of this artist's amazing skill.
