This unique one-of-a-kind beaded wire dragonfly is part of the movement of contemporary African art sweeping the Continent. This one showcases the work of the artist known as "Tet". This dragonfly features 6 handmade solid translucent red, clear, and orange African powder glass beads and one larger red, white & blue one, all on recycled wire. The smallest grey beads, forming the wings and feet and the amber beads forming the tail, are imported, conventional glass beads. The African beads, also called "sandcast" beads - are modern versions of the traditional low-fire bead making process which has proliferated recently in Ghana. Tet's creativity is reflected in a large variety of beads of this type; he has chosen these spiders as one more way to exhibit his skill.
