This authentic statue represents the spirit of a male ancestor. This figure was kept in a personal shrine where family members could give offerings, or seek advice for the future. Having been held, handled for many years, the surface of the object is smooth and has lost some detail in the arms. It is also no longer able to stand on its own, but would have been supported in the shrine it was kept in.
