Handwoven from local swampgrass in the lowlands of coastal Benin, West Africa this irreularly shaped mat is the natural color of the straw plus 3 other dyed straws of the same type. This mat is not a replica: it is a one of a kind product, originally made for local tribal use. The Mina people in this area of Africa use this mat for everyday use, to sit on the ground.

The longer of the 2 long sides measures 48" (122 cm), the shorter long side 47" (119 cm). The longer of the wide dimension measures 26" (66 cm), the shorter wide side 20" (51 cm).
