Traditionally, all children in Africa make their own toys out of found materials: discarded cans, wire, old sandals, tires, etc. Following this long-standing tradition modern artists are creating art in all kinds of forms. This guitar was made by such an artist but it could have been a toy a child might have made for him or herself.  This metal sculpture is a unique one-of-a-kind toy made by an accomplished artist of the genre. 

Although this could have been a toy in Africa we consider it only to be a decorative object. It is NOT appropriate as a toy for a child unless it's the African child for whom it was made. Regrettably it cannot, in its present condition, be played; it is not a musical instrument.
