This ring is a reproduction of a mask that was used to weigh gold at least 100 years ago when gold dust was commonly used in Africa as their currency. To have a gold weight in the form of a ring was a convenient way to have your weights available at all times.

Each ring is individually hand cast using the traditional lost wax casting technique as has always been done in Africa. Therefore no two are identical. Please ask us about sizing.
