Small Ceremonial-style African Kifwebe Monkey Tribal Mask from Congo (DRC)
This mask was probably not made for traditional tribal use but was made by people who would have made those same authentic masks, in the same tradition using the same tools and techniques. It looks so much like the genuine, vintage ritual masks that it's hard to know the difference. The style is completely typical of a smaller version of mask of the Kifwebe people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a "passport" mask in the form of a monkey.
This mask measures: 6" (15 cm)
