This small textile panel is all hand woven and hand embroidered. It was incorporated into a Hmong woman's garment, probably a top, a blouse of some kind. I believe this was a sleeve design. The detail of the embroidery is extremely fine; this quality of work is virtually impossible to find any more. We bought this many years ago on one of our first trips to Vietnam. We purchased it in Sa Pa, in the far northwest of Vietnam, close to the Chinese border, high in the foothills of the Himalayas.
