Tiv Textile - Modified "Stones" Design
This textile is woven and dyed in Nigeria, by the Tiv people. Woven out of cotton and died from indigo dyes. This style of textile is a modification of the design they call "stones": the pattern evoking stones. The "stones" on this textile are large white dots on an indigo background.
Some of the indigo dye used to make this textile has run into one of the circles, a minor, but noticeable imperfection.
This is a traditionally woven and dyed textile but is not one that has been used already, not vintage; we cannot guarantee that this textile will not run if washed. We recommend dry cleaning methods to avoid running very carefully hand washing.
This textile measures 67 x 45" (170 x 114 cm)
