Known as a "wrapper" by the people of Burkina Faso who use this textile as a form of clothing. This cloth is considered women's clothing and is wrapped around the waist as a skirt. The textile is made using natural indigo dyes and have varying levels of fading depending on the amount of use and age. Occasionally, some textiles will have custom embroidery to add a touch of uniqueness and creativity to the piece. This can also help identify the textile from other individuals clothing.

To us, it is a beautiful denim indigo fabric with natural faded areas from use, which has great appeal and unique character. When woven, these textiles are composed of many small bands about 6" wide. Our denim indigo fabrics are vintage with a tight weave, some containing accented tassels at the ends of the textile.
