An extraordinarily large vintage hand-carved African Djembe drum, made of wood in brown color. This drum is an original piece from Mali. This ceremonial drum measures 29 3/4″ (95 cm) tall, 18 1/2 x 17 1/2" (32 cm) head diameter, 11" diameter base, in excellent condition in spite of its age. This was made for tribal use and was used often as evidenced by its patina. Now, it can certainly be modified for musical use but in its current state it is much more decorative than musical.
