Vintage Kuba Cloth Textile Wall Art | 19.5" x 19.5"
Kuba cloths are a somewhat sturdy durable fabric with two ply's; the front design and a solid color back that wraps around the edges of the cloth.
Handmade many years ago in the heart of The Democratic Republic of the Congo. This cloth was woven by a member of the Bakuba tribe. Women typically accent the textile with embroidery while the men cultivate the raffia palm and weave the structure of the cloth on a loom. Kuba cloths are woven as a symbol for a person, couple, or family; thus having extravagant designs, patterns and shapes as a symbol of artistic creativity and workmanship.
These cloths can be framed and used as wall art decor. Other popular utilities consist of pillowcases and furniture accents.
This textile measures 19.5" x 19.5"
