Tuareg InGall Coin Silver & Glass Pendant Leather Necklace/Choker - Niger
This pendant is one of the region-specific pendant series - said to be a series of 21 - that the Tuareg people of Niger use. This one is from the In Gall region, characterized by coin silver encasing a piece of red glass. The sizes of these varies from 1 7/8" to 2 3/8" tall (4.8 to 6 cm).
Any of these pendants can be strung on either of 4 beautiful options: on an alagom, a leather choker, unique to Niger, made of 14 very thin strands of twisted leather, on either of 2 lengths of triple leather strands, or on a single strand.
The circumferences of these 4 options are: alagom multiple 17 1/2" (44 cm), short triple 24", long triple 44", single 55" (of course, you can cut the single strand to any shorter length).
